A new beginning

This is the first of the many blogs TSAA students will look forward to having. This aims to provide our students an open avenue to post comments about our review program, effective tips for the IELTS test and specific questions that came out in the actual IELTS.

  3. Sir Robert, I really have a problem with pronunciation, sometimes im too cautious about how i can utter words correctly as a result, i committed more mispronounced words.another problem i have in speaking is on how to be more creative in PART 2. I hope you can give me some tips so that i can get at least 7 in my speaking test.

  4. Hi Ms. Unique name!

First of all, thank you for being honest with your difficulties. Mispronouncing words can really be very disappointing especially if you know that it comprises a quarter of the marking of your test. But do not worry. If pronunciation is your obstacle, you can always do better in the other criteria of the test, i.e. fluency and coherence, lexical resource (vocabulary) and grammatical range and accuracy. Moreover, it is best that you identify the letters or letter-groups that you are mispronouncing. By doing this, you can be more conscious the next time you use them in your talk. This is best achieved by the way when you tell your teacher at TSAA during your interviews to identify for you the common letters or letter groups you mispronounce. In our center, these are the common problems that students normally encounter if you talk about pronunciation: b vs. v, p vs. f, t vs. th.

Regarding your concern about how to be creative in part 2 of the test, it is best that you approach me personally. After my class with you, do not hesitate to approach me. I have great ideas to share with you and I shall do this in private since the techniques form part of our "protected" materials only given to our students.

Thank you once again. See you around. :-)

  6. wow! i was surprised to know that TSAA already has a website. this is a very good business move, and by the way a very noble commitment to your clients/students. i can clearly remember last year at the start of summer 2009 when i enrolled at TSAA, i asked them why they didnt have a website. although i cannot remember what sir robert told me that time but i am very very happy that they have expanded their reach. this is truly wonderful and i can definitely say that i am proud to be a "graduate" of TSAA :) walang sayang kahit ni konting sentimo sa binayad nyo for reviewing under TSAA! go lng ng go!

  7. Sir Dan and Sir Robert, you're awe-inspiring! Nakakainsecure lang talaga pag kaharap kayo during interview especially when you start using compound, complex sentences in your statements.
