    Hi everyone!

Share ko lang mga questions that "Billy" asked me.

I really can't remember everything or maybe yun lang talaga ang questions na tinanong nya.Nagtaka talaga ako after realizing it. Baka PTSD.haha. Interview date: 23 Aug 2010 (afternoon)

    Part 1
    Are you working or studying?
So you are a volunteer nurse?
Is that a common scenario (or situation?) in the Philippines? *regarding sa pagiging volunteer nurse*

    Part 2:
Talk about a toy you had in your childhood. What was it? Who gave it to you? When and where did you use it? What did you learn from playing with it( or gain?)?

then after 2 or 3 minutes he cut me out graciously (he told me beforehand that he would do so) then asked me some follow-up questions:
*Do you still keep the toy?
*What is the most popular toy or game in the Philippines?

Then he told me that he would ask me 2 general questions for Part 3 related to the preceding topic.
    * What is the difference between toys for girls and toys for boys?
*I have a friend who has a young boy(forgot the age). She saw him playing with her makeup kit, and is bothered of the possibilities of her child being gay(basta parang ganun pagkaask). What do you think would be the best advice I could give her?

The interviewer was very courteous. Indeed, he would open and close the door for you. He also gestured for a handshake while he introduced himself and as he concluded the interview.

He would listen closely to what you are saying, but during the third part, he would just scan the clearbook, look at you and then read again, like looking bored.(very distracting... for future takers, wag madistract!)
Because of that paikot-ikot lang ang sagot ko. I can't organize my thoughts right.
    *
Ask ko lang sir Robert ok lang ba to say, "Does that make sense, anyway what I'm trying to say is..." Kulba na kaayo. If given a chance, I wish I had done it better.

Pero, nakahelp jud tong mga pointers. (Thank you sir and Thank you TSAA)!

    God Bless us all!

  17. Hello TSAAians...

I had my Speaking Test on 23 August 2010 with William "Billy" Lawrence as my interviewer. Prior to the start of the test, that was before he actually recorded the interview, he gave me an overview on how the speaking test would progress.

Although he was noted to be "the man who loves to argue or challenge interviewees", he never attempted to do such thing to me. If he did that, still it would not matter because I prepared for it.(LOL,thanks Sir Rob..)

Anyway, Billy went on to ask me with the following questions...

    PART 1:
    1. Describe your hometown or city?
    2. What can you do to improve your hometown or city?
    3. What time of the year do you like most?
    4. What kind of weather do you like most in a year?

    PART 2:
Describe a sport do you think you need to learn?
    --What kind of sport?
    --Why do you like it?
--What do you need to do to be good at it?
--What can you benefit from this kind of sport?

    PART 3:
    1. Do you think that international sports events important?
    2. Why do you think it is important?
    3. Do you think that these events are important to bring the countries closer?
    4. What are the benefits from these events?
    5. Do you think that Asian countries are interested in these events?
    6. Why do you think that some companies show their interest in these events?

At the end of the Speaking Test, Billie shook my hand and opened the door for me as I took my joyful/sorrowful/glorious (stir it up!..LOL) exit...

Anxiety is hovering around the corner as we wait for the big day, 4 September 2010...

    Thank You TSAA...

    To my student:

I would prefer that you didn't say it, but you did... :-) You don't have anything to worry though... You said it in correct English and it is a line normally uttered in actual conversations... Be positive. You will make it. Congratulations ahead!
